Dont forget to dead head your bedding plants

Deadheading is an important gardening task that involves removing spent blooms from your plants. This not only keeps your plants looking neat and tidy, but it also encourages them to produce more blooms. If you have bedding plants in your garden, such as petunias, marigolds, or impatiens, deadheading is especially important to keep them looking their best. Here's how to deadhead your bedding plants:

1. Identify spent blooms: The first step in deadheading is to identify which blooms have finished blooming and need to be removed. Look for blooms that have wilted or turned brown and are no longer producing new flowers.

2. Pinch or cut off the bloom: Once you've identified a spent bloom, use your fingers or a pair of scissors to pinch or cut off the bloom. Be sure to remove the entire flower head, including the stem, as leaving any part of the dead flower can be unsightly and can also attract pests.

3. Deadhead regularly: To keep your bedding plants looking their best, it's important to deadhead them regularly throughout the growing season. This will encourage the plants to produce more blooms and keep them looking neat and tidy.

4. Watch for seed heads: In some cases, you may want to allow your plants to produce seed heads for next year's garden. If this is the case, allow some of the spent blooms to remain on the plant until they produce seeds. However, be sure to remove the majority of spent blooms to encourage continued blooming.

5. Dispose of spent blooms: Once you've deadheaded your plants, be sure to dispose of the spent blooms properly. This can be done by adding them to your compost pile or by simply throwing them away.
