🌿 Closing the Loop: What Happens to Our Green Waste

Every stem we trim, every leaf we snip, every bit of natural off-cut that comes from our design bench is collected and turned into compost. Nothing goes to landfill.

This compost is then reused in the shop especially when we’re repotting plants. It’s a complete circle: nature back to nature, helping new growth thrive. Our customers often comment on how healthy our plants look… now you know the secret.

We’re firm believers that beautiful flowers don’t need to cost the earth.

All our packaging is either compostable or fully recyclable — from our wraps to our ribbons and presentation materials. The goal is simple: gorgeous flowers, minimal footprint.

One of the biggest things we can do as a florist is choose the right supply chain.

We work with wholesalers who are deeply committed to European sustainability standards in floristry and floriculture. They’re FSI certified, collaborate with the most progressive growers in the world, and constantly invest in environmental accountability — energy efficiency, water systems, responsible labour practices, transparent sourcing, and reduced waste.

When we choose to buy from partners who hold themselves to this standard, it means our flowers arrive with a story of care behind them long before they reach our hands.

Foliage gives structure, shape, and soul to every arrangement, so it matters where it comes from.

At Violets, 99% of our foliage is Irish-grown, supporting local growers, reducing transport miles, and keeping our designs rooted in the beauty of our own landscape.

It’s better for the planet, and honestly, Irish foliage is just exceptional.
